To what extent is the original rationale of the ACP-EU Partnership still valid in 2015? And to what extent can the ACP-EU partnership support common interests between the ACP and EU countries in a Post-2015 world? These were the questions raised by ECDPM’s Deputy Director Geert Laporte and discussed at this week’s meeting of the business interests, trade unions and other civil society actors of the ACP-EU follow-up committee of the European Economic and Social Committee. Laporte also stressed that the EU and the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries have an interest to shape a new type of partnership beyond aid that is more political and interest driven in a Post-2015 context.
